He's back!!!
Where did you go homie I’ve been loving the vids any content soon?
Just been a busy year! I’ll be back soon 🫡
what modification have a car
Yo rev is it safe to run 15w40 deisel on a fa20 just like in a e36?
I wouldn’t personally, I’d stick to full synthetic 0W-20 or 5w-30 if you’re in an extreme hot environment or tracking the car 👍
@@ryevdee6064 thanks a lot man!
this helped a lot bro ty
First video I’ve seen, great personality. And thank you for testing!
Still using it to this day, no hydro 👍
Who’s your tuner?
Zach at Counter Space Garage!
Still so loud. Would it have a deeper softer tone with a 3” exhaust? I’m looking for a cultured sounding exhaust. Custom 3” magma flow is the only one I’ve heard so far that sounds descent.
You kill it, nice runs testing the new setup man 😎🤙
Nice pulley kit. I'm currently having the same issue with the belt walking off. I do hpde and I'm supercharged so it's almost the same scenario. Initially, I thought it was because I spun out on track last time, and that caused the misalignment. So I swapped out the belt and it happened again this past track day. Glad I brought an extra belt to the track.Gonna check and change out the pulley's. Hopefully, this fixes it.
I haven’t had the same issue since! But yea I keep a spare belt around now too just in case 😭😂
This is such good content thank you for this
Cant quite tell from the vid do the front fenders stick out further than the rears or does it look lined up?
I have a 2013 Scion frs and I never let my rpm’s pass 4 is that good or bad I’m too scared to go any higher
as long as you're not redlining the car every pull, you should be fine.
Cars are happy somewhere between being babied and being absolutely beaten on imo, they do want to rev, act like engines, get to temp, it’s unnatural for them to not go through their “full range of motion” if that makes sense, hence why babied barely driven supercars break frequently, but on the same token can’t be doing it all the in any situation. I’d look at it as working out but for your car in a sense, you have to stretch before you work out (or should), someone who stretches and works out frequently will perform better generally than one that doesn’t, parts deteriorate instead of staying lubed and healthy if left unused right? Same for cars as humans, we’re both somewhat machines. 👍
We back baby
Practice camera basics,meth head cam
Cry me a river 😂😭
Any comments on the "the FA20 has tighter tolerances, so you shouldn't use 5w-30" argument you hear a lot?
Really just depends, stock car in a normal situation I’d agree might as well stay 0w20, but if you’re FI, run the car hard, and/or in a hot environment, 0w20 will thin out in a nanosecond which is also not ideal, so I think it’d be best to be mindful of your situation and environment when it comes to weights, which is why the owners manual recommends 0w20 OR 5W30 for extreme environments.
Great job bro!!! Keep it up
My friend you made a good purchase, these truck are literally bulllet proof, of course you have to get into several things like maintenance and other things but nothing compare with another trucks brands, I have mine for like 6 years and trust me is a tank, with the proper maintenance and a little bit of upgrades you’ll have a truck for life…congratulations!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ik this video is old but I came across it looking for answers I have a 2018 86 and I was just curious but would I need to pull the fuse in my car cuz I’ve tried it with traction control all the way off with the normal bottoms but car feels under powered ?
Without headers and such it really is pretty gutless from the factory, high air pressure in the rear always helps and I prefer keeping the fuse pulled if you’re drifting for any prolonged time. Rather have 0 extra factors when drifting if possible 🙌
did you change the final drive? also are you on the stock diff?
Nope it’s the oem 4.1 torsen! 💪
@@ryevdee6064 might wanna consider changing the final drive
It’s always a tough consideration since this isn’t the only track I drive, optimal final drive here won’t be elsewhere for example, but I am hunting for a 3.7 they’re some what rare though 😭
Looks like such a good time !! Great driving Ryan 👏
Can’t wait to try again! 🙌
great video! so tempting unfortunately but fortunately i daily mine to take make 86 out like this. That last run with the helmet pov was so smooth. What mods (angle kit?) are you running and camber?
Back then the FRS was my daily haha 🤠 It was on Megan inner tie rods and coil overs that’s about it mods wise for drifting, camber around -3 I believe!
were u on stock suspension?
Nope I just leave some space for Jesus 🙏 On Tein JDM versions of the Flex A’s
Cool video! Nice seeing what the FRS is capable of with a turbo
Need 2 start drifting next season
Just the motivation I needed to do dumb stuff
YOLO 🙏
Glad you titled it "loudest" and not best sounding, so at least there is some truth to it. Sounds like a tinny shitbox with a autozone exhaust. But hey, you have to like it, and nice car control. I sound meaner than I intend it to come across. But yeah, not my thing.
Totally get it man, hard to make EL FA20s sound any different than a bees nest 😅 In tandem I gotta be able to hear my car, sometimes you drive with people with even obscenely louder cars than mine is now, had to make some kind of change to stay in tune with the cars rpm’s to stay safe 🙏
Chris Borges title
🥸
Car sounds great dude
How many miles did your frs have when you first bought it and how many miles does it have now? Just want to see how much abuse these fa20s can take. Just bought a 2020 brz
Bought at 48k, it has 94.5k now, it’s been through autox for a year then drift for the last 3 years, no major issues to report. I do fluid changes religiously either 3k miles or every drift event now and it seems to stay happy. The stock clutch only just now gave out after 3 years of drifting, 2 years NA and now 1 year boosted. So overall I’d say it’s pretty reliable 👍
@ryevdee6064 one more question would you say pbm angle kit daily drivable. I out here in San diego by parts shop max
this is one of those UA-cam videos that makes 10 minutes pass in 5
Was this a fluke? I haven't had a belt issue in my turbocharged 86 that also sees drift days. I would like to avoid any hiccups in the future though.
I think my idler pulley bearings were going out which led to enough wobble to throw the belt in the right situation pinging off high rpm’s, haven’t had any belt issues since! 👍
@@ryevdee6064 good to hear. I should inspect mine to see how they are holding up. Car is 11 years old almost.
Do you need a tune when you install this pulleys ?
Nope! Don’t quote me but even if you did the lightweight pulleys which does change how the engine spins in a sense, you still don’t need to retune. But these being idler pulleys only it doesn’t change anything in how it runs overall, the lightweight crank/AC/alternator pulleys are what changes the engines effort in spinning the accessory drives.
Nice truck you have there. I have an 03 SR5 that’s about to turn 100k. I’ll finally start giving it the love it deserves since I hate car notes. Love it and it’ll love you back. 🤙🏼🏁
Do the front ball joints. If you don't they WILL fail. Google it and you will see what I mean.
The hardest for me is 5th into 4th. It wants to catch the gate on the edge between 4th and 6th. I have the oem short shifter installed. 2023 gr86. I have the spring in my toolbox worried that its going to make the shifting more difficult.
I doubt it, the springs add more tension but they don’t make it a work out in any sense, I’d give it a shot! 🙌
Is there a link to get those fenders?
Hit up @nowinaero on IG! 🙌
This is super awesome !!! Do you have the specs so i can try making this myself ?
I don’t but I think best bet is to wait til you have your oil cooler core on hand, I did a lot of pre-fab which ended up not lining up. Would’ve been just as good if I just waited to have more accurate marks, but I’d definitely swing away man, little parts like this help build confidence for more complex stuff down the line! 🙌
I have ATR sport 1 which is now expired, they we're great tires and grippy as hell. Will now upgrade to ATR 2.
My favorite part has to be 6:05 😂
GETS ME EVERYTIME 😭😂
What gears do u normally keep it in 1-2? I feel like 3rd never gets really spinning for me
Depends on the course/track; osw skid pad is 2nd for most people, but the oval is 3rd and most road courses you probably would need to go beyond 2nd to link it. 👍
where is this
Orlando Speedworld!
when buying the control arm kit, does it come with toe arms? or is that bought separately?
Great question! Some companies sell combination packs but for these particular parts you’d have to order separately. Ft86 speed factory now sells their own tie rods which are made by verus which is a cool collab and I think one of the better toe arms since it comes with the eccentric lockout plates as well 👍
How much HP has your car?
Somewhere in the ~270hp range, I’ve drifted the car from stock power to headers to now turbo though, don’t need much to have fun! 🙌
Everything about this video is more refined. The driving. The car. The editing. The hiatus did you well. 🙏
Glad to see you back!
Oh damn this is sick!
I'm a victim of the dreaded pink milkshake in the transmission caused by this. 2005 Tundra with 175K miles and believe the radiator is the stock one. Trans started slipping so I check the fluid and that's when I found it. Hopefully my transmission isn't rusted and shot, going to flush it, new radiator and bypass radiator as well. Thanks for the video.
Sorry to hear! From what I know if it gets flushed soon enough your trans might end up being fine, hope that’s the case for you 🙏🙌
Do you have oil cooler?
I do! I run the Jackson racing oil cooler setup, sweet piece of kit! 👍
whats ur exhaust setup, EL headers?
At this point it was indeed, Ace Header CS400 to Ace front pipe to TRD
